Melinda Carina Mar ("Mar Ghen Mei"), 66, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Enid, Oklahoma, passed on to join her ancestors on September 22, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Melinda was born in Enid on June 13, 1959, to parents Yook Yip "Judy" Mar and Shui Hung "Bob" Mar. Melinda was the eldest sister to three siblings. She would often care for them while helping to run the family's Three Towers Restaurant, which served patrons Chinese-American food for over 45 years.
She had a passion for supporting others, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in social work from Baylor University in 1982. She later met her partner (now divorced), Bucha Prammanasudh, working at Three Towers, and they married on June 20, 1983, in Enid. She pursued a Master of Arts in English with a special focus on TESL (teaching English as a second language) at Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1986.
Melinda was a doting mother of her two children, actively involved in their academic affairs and extra-curricular pursuits, hand-making dance and Halloween costumes. She loved teaching all grade levels and was an avid writer and creative. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, crafting, and listening to music.
Melinda is survived by her two children, Casey Prammanasudh of Philadelphia and Serena Prammanasudh of Washington, D.C.; three siblings, Melissa Mar Siu of Benbrook, Gorland Mar of Fort Worth, and Patrick Mar of Kansas City; her nephew Austin and niece Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Shui Hung "Bob" Mar, and mother Yook Yip "Judy" Mar.
