Meri L. Turner, 38, of South Beloit, IL, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Beloit Memorial Hospital due to complications from Influenza A and Pneumonia.
She was born on April 21, 1986 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Allen Turner and Kimberly Simplot. Meri was a 2004 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. She attended First Class Cosmetology School in Beloit.
Meri worked as a bartender at The Last Lap, where her vibrant personality made a lasting impact on those around her. She was strong, fearless, and full of life, with a big heart and an infectious laugh that could brighten any room. Meri had a passion for soccer and volleyball and was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. If you knew Meri, you knew how deeply she loved "the moon". People loved to listen to her sing karaoke and she was a dancing queen. More than anything, she cherished time with her family and took immense pride in being a mother, adoring her children with all her heart.
Survivors include her fiancé and best friend, Gary Jenkins of South Beloit, IL; children, Leila Keniston, Tallen Turner, and Joshua Jenkins; father, Al (Jackie) Turner of South Beloit, IL; mother, Kim Simplot of Beloit, WI; siblings, Justin (Beni) Turner of Madison, WI, Andrew Gochanour of South Beloit, IL, Heather (Bobby) Chojnacki of Footville, WI, Emily Stryhn of Janesville, WI, Amy (Travis Earle) Stryhn of Beloit, WI, Ashley (David) Cridelich of Montello, WI, and Erica (Samantha) Turner of South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Kaiden, Gage, Amaiyah, Kylee, Hudsyn, Weston, Aieden, Victoria, Kaleb, and Lucy; aunts and uncles, Clayton (Christine) Simplot, Kerry (Judy) Simplot, Joni Hardin, Sara Gorrell, and Jeannie Simplot; grandmother, Patricia Turner; and numerous cousins.
Meri was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Grant Turner; paternal grandmother, Linda Schuenke; maternal grandparents, Virgil and Linda Simplot; niece, Kaylyn Chojnacki; nephew, Jaxson Stryhn-Earle; uncles, Kevin Simplot, Chris Simplot, Dan Gorrell.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Diana Kramer-Voss and the Beloit Memorial Hospital CICU staff.
Meri's legacy will live on through the vital organs she was able to donate after her passing.
A Visitation of Remembrance for Meri will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
