A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA. for Mrs. Merline Landry, 77, who passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings, LA.
The family requests that the visiting hours be observed at the Matthews Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of her services at 1:00 PM.
Mr. Eric Crochet, will be officiating the services.
Interment will follow in the Lakeview cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA.
Merline was born in Ville Platte, LA on October 21, 1947, to Clifford Pitre and Versie Mae Bolfa. As a resident of Jennings, LA, Merline led a life with her husband, Edward Landry. Together they shared a marriage of 61 years. Merline held a love for cooking which brought about her career in baking where she was well known for her donut making. Merline enjoyed the hobbies of fishing and dancing. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Merline is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward Landry; her son, Kenny Landry (Margaret); her daughter, Annette Ewing (David); one brother, Tommy Pitre; one sister, Bernadine Lacoste (Ronald); her eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Pitre and Versie Mae Bolfa; her son, Dennis Landry; four sisters, Louanna Teal, Thelma Portie, Velma Reed and Geneva Mier; two brothers, Donald Pitre and Gerald Pitre.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home LAKE ARTHUR, LA 317 KELLOGG ST. LAKE ARTHUR, LA 70549
