Michael Anthony Dietz

Michael Anthony Dietz passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the age of 65.
Mike was born on December 11, 1958 in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He was a son of Jack and Lois (nee Shaughnessy) Dietz. Mike was an All-State Football player for Lakeshore High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan and graduated in 1977. Just a year after graduation, Mike married his high school sweetheart, Karen Mastrianni, on September 8, 1978. They shared 45 wonderful years making memories and raising their four children together. Mike worked as a manager with Art Van for 43 years before retiring in March of 2020. He was a fan of any sport but super fan of Notre Dame. Mike enjoyed watching Westerns, playing yard games, spending time outdoors and visiting their place in Wellston (Northern Michigan). He had a gift of woodworking and made several pieces of outdoor furniture amongst other things. Mike had a love that knew no bounds when it came to his family. They came above everything else, especially his grandchildren. His passing will leave a void in the hearts of those who loved him most. He will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Tina (Brad) Cichocki, Kristen (Scott) Whiting, Vincent (Megan) Dietz and Jaime (Alex) Fennell; grandchildren, Jack Whiting, Charlotte Whiting, Luciana Fennell, Leo Fennell and Loie Dietz; mother, Lois Dietz; siblings, John Dietz, Kathleen (Tim) Seagraves, Thomas (Liz) Dietz, Mark Dietz and Vincent Dietz; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Memorial Visitation for Mike will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. service time at Tiffany-Young & Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 S. Fulton, Armada.
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Mike's family to be donated at a later date.
