Michael Hubert Guthrie was born in Cleburne, Texas on Friday, July 19, 1940 to James Hubert Guthrie and Ruby Mae Wells Guthrie. He went to heaven on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the age of 84 years and eight months.
Michael grew up in Godley, Texas with his parents and one brother.
Michael attended school in Godley, graduating in 1958. He attended TCU the following year.
Michael married Linda Lee Martin in 1963, living in Fort Worth until 1969, when they moved to Burleson, Texas, where they remained in their home all their lives.
Michael served in the 173rd Airborne division of the United States Army from 1964 to 1966, serving in combat during the Viet Nam war, where he was wounded in battle, and awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a devout Christian man of deep faith, and service to the Lord, his church and those in need, all his life. A devoted husband of 53 years, a loving father and tender grandfather. Michael and his brother were fine sons, taking care of their parents in their old age and illness.
Michael was preceded in death by his Parents, Hubert and Ruby Guthrie, his brother Thomas and wife Linda.
He is survived by their three children, David Guthrie and wife Amie, Michael Brian and wife Dianna, and Kari Cuno and husband Steve. Nine Grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
