Michael "Mike" Newton, age 70, of Belton, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his home. Mike was born on the 21st day of December 1953 in Neosho, MO, to his parents Max Worleigh and Margaret Mary (Wolf) Newton.
For his entire adult life, Mike has lived in the Bell County area. In 1972, he received his diploma from Belton High School. He met Sherry Jones, the love of his life, shortly after high school, and the two were married in June 1979 in Penelope, Texas. The couple went on to bless this world with two amazing sons: Boyd and Shane Newton. Mike belonged to the Lutheran Church and was a devoted member. He enjoyed purchasing and selling antiques as much as going antique shopping. As a passionate deep-sea fisherman, Mike loved camping and fishing with his loved ones along the coast. Everyone who knew and cared for Mike adored him. He will be greatly missed.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Janice.
Mikes leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Sherry Newton, sons Boyd Newton and Shane Newton all of Morgans Point Resort, brother Tommy Newton of Temple.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with these arrangements.
