RICHMOND, Ind. – Michael Wayne Parker Sr., age 75, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at home.

Born September 18, 1949, in Richmond, Indiana, to James and Sylvia Ponder Parker, Mike was a life-long resident of Richmond. He was a graduate of Richmond High School. Mike retired from the Richmond Parks Department, where he was a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, reading about history, and reading the Bible daily. Mike was a member of LifeSpring Church North Campus.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Janie R. McGhee Parker; children, Michael (Dena) Parker Jr., Teressa (Steven) Williams, and Jeffrey (Jessica) Parker; grandchildren, Kaylynn (Chris) Mitchell, Spencer (Olivia) Parker, Landon (Brooklyn) Williams, Brennen (Lexus) Parker, Preston (Savannah) Parker, Mitchel Parker, and Emmett Parker; great-grandchildren, Rorry Mitchell, Blaec Williams, Haisley Parker, Remington Parker, Chloe Parker, Riley Parker, Aria Parker, Scarlett Parker, Memphis Parker, and Cashton Parker; siblings, James "Eddie" Parker, Charles (Nancy) Parker, Glenna (Dennis) Wagner; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Joe Parker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Wyatt; brothers, Leslie Parker, David Parker, and Woody Parker; great-granddaughter, Payson Parker; great-grandchildren, Wren and Walker Mitchell; and sister-in-law, Edith Parker.

Visitation for Michael Wayne Parker Sr. will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025, with additional visitation one hour prior at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Hale officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
