Micki (Michelle) Faye Cowan, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on December 23, 1950, in Huntington Beach, California, Micki moved to Western North Carolina as a teenager, where she would eventually make her mark on the community she held dear. As a young adult, Micki embarked on a career with AT&T, working in both Greensboro and Miami. However, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to one of her proudest achievements: the purchase of My Father's Pizza and Pasta on Cherry Street in Black Mountain. Micki's passion for hospitality and delicious food became a staple of the community, and she took immense pride in watching her daughter, Chloe Brown, continue the family legacy by successfully running the restaurant. Micki is survived by her loving daughter Chloe and son-in-law Thomas Brown, as well as her cherished grandchildren Will, Max, and Remy. She is also survived by her sister, Kitty Meyer and brother, Butch Cowan. A woman of many passions, Micki found joy in her garden, surrounded by vibrant plants and all wildlife, great and small. Her love for arts and history was evident through her active support of the Black Mountain Center of the Arts, the Swannanoa Valley Museum and the Black Mountain Library. In honor of Micki's life and legacy, a private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Micki's honor to the Swannanoa Valley Museum, Black Mountain Center for the Arts or the Friends of the Black Mountain Library. Micki will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the lasting impact she made on her community and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
