Mildred M. "Millie" Ensz, 95, died June 11, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was the eighth child, born April 11, 1930, in Ness City to Adam A. and Katherine "Kate" (Meis) Lang.
Millie graduated from Buhler High School and worked as an administrative assistant for Doskocil. She was a devoted and active community volunteer through RSVP/The Volunteer Center, even up to age 94. Millie was a great cook and a meticulous seamstress. She also had been an avid supporter of the American Legion Auxiliary and Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps. In addition, Millie loved gardening, shopping, and KU basketball, despite purple being her favorite color. Millie and her daughter, Sharon, shared a special bond as mother and daughter, and could be found together at many events.
In 1950, Millie married Jack Dunmire. He died in 1953. A few years later, she married Al Ensz; that union ended in divorce.
Millie is survived by: her loving daughter, Sharon Ensz of Hutchinson; son, Steve Dunmire; brother, Ernie Lang (Karin) of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Martina, Albertina, Virginia, Florence, Lora Jean, and Ruth Virginia; and brothers, Paul, Richard, Herman, Art, and Alden.
Millie and her younger brother shared a birthday, a coincidence that grew more poignant as they became the last remaining siblings out of 13.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 West 4th Avenue, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice and HomeCare of Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
