Nelda Jurhee "Turkey" Stone

Nelda Jurhee Stone, age 82, passed away on August 6, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1942, in Wellington, Texas, to JW "Buck" and Ruth Louise (Crawford) Lancaster. She later attended Silverton High School. After high school, she attended cosmetology school and became a hair stylist, an occupation she worked in until her retirement.

One night, while visiting a drive-in theatre, she ran into an old acquaintance, Clyde Stone. The two fell in love and were married on July 27, 1963. They enjoyed fifteen wonderful years together and had two daughters before Clyde's unexpected passing in 1978.

Nelda was a faithful follower of Jesus and enjoyed spending her time doing Bible studies. She was an excellent cook and loved sharing her food with friends and family. Her specialty was spoiling her grandchildren.

Nelda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Stone and Mistie Stone; grandchildren Alina Strain and husband Jonathan and their children Harper, Chloe, Finley, Wyatt, and Liam, Chris Dean and wife Kendra and their children Rhett and Maddie, and Jason Yeisley and wife Niralee and their daughter Alexis; brothers Stanley Lancaster and wife Glenda and Gene Lancaster.

Private services will be held at a later date.
