Nora Lee Sorells entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the age of 86. She was a native of Carlisle, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. “Kitty,” as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a retired laborer of Local 689 Union, and formerly worked at Celotex Refinery. She also worked for many years as a caregiver. Beloved wife of the late Cable Lee Sorells, Sr. Loving mother of Cable, Jr., Joe (Andrea), Bennie, Sr. (Kena), and Edward (Denise) Sorells, Sr., Joann LaMark, and the late LeeRoy (Janice) Sorells, Sr. Daughter of the late Hester Evans, and Luster Walker. Sister of Templeton (Sarah) Evans, Ida (Richard) Banks, Flora (Johnnie) Smith, and the late Ruby, Bessie, Emma, Corine, Catherine, Mamie, Albert Ray and Isaac. Nora is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acres Rd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor T. A. Ranson, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the above-named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery Avondale, LA.
