Norma Jean Kappel, 85, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away Monday, April 7, 2025. She was born on February 14, 1940 in Buffalo, Ohio to Joseph and Anne Dukles. In her working years, Norma had a long and rewarding career in the home building industry in Cleveland, Ohio. After retiring to Florida, she became an avid golfer and was involved in several ladies' leagues in the area. She served her community by volunteering with the Flagler County Election Board. Though she had many accomplishments throughout her career and on the golf course, her greatest accomplishment was her family. She doted on her grandchildren and adored her great grandchildren; her proudest and fondest memories surround them.
Norma is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Joseph Kappel; son, Gregory A. Kappel (wife, Robin Kappel); daughter, Michele A. Friedman (husband, David Friedman); brother, Thomas Dukles (wife, Mary Lou Dukles); sister, Kathleen Jurcsisn (husband, John Jurcsisn); brother, David Dukles (wife, Janet Dukles); brother, John Dukles (wife, Jean Dukles); granddaughter, Melissa Metraw (husband, Jack Metraw); grandson, Thomas Kappel; grandson, Tyler Friedman; great grandchildren, Mia and Charlie; and other extended family and friends. Shortly after Norma's passing, her brother, Joseph James Dukles, passed away; they are both dearly missed.
There will be an informal gathering time to celebrate Norma's life, to share memories, and be together on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 3pm-5pm at Lohman Funeral Home located at 220 Palm Coast Parkway SW, Palm Coast, Florida 32137.
