Pamela Jo Niehoff, 63, went home to the arms of her beloved mother on March 3rd, 2025 after a brave and ferocious battle with cancer. Warm and cozy in bed, she peacefully closed her eyes and took her last breath while the pastor was singing Amazing Grace.
Pamela was born to Morris and Marilee Niehoff in Kadoka, SD on March 9, 1961. She was the fourth born of nine children, and the eldest daughter. Growing up, she had many fond memories of time at her Grandma Niehoff's farm. Later, the family moved to Murdo where she enjoyed time with her Grandma Nelson. Her many cousins were ever-present in her happy childhood memories.
Pam was an animal lover for her entire life, always bringing home stray cats and dogs to care for. She was responsible for the joy of many people and pets through the years by way of connecting fur babies with their forever homes.
Pam welcomed two daughters, Erika and Brooke, 10 years apart. They were the light of her life. She loved them with her whole being and was very proud of the women they grew up to become.
Pam moved to Kansas in 1996 to be near her sister, Kerry, and eventually she met Bill Ferguson with whom she spent the rest of her life. Bill stayed by her side until the very end. They made many cherished memories together with time spent fishing, country cruising and enjoying ice-cold beers next to a roaring bonfire.
Pam was an enthusiastic football fan, and she loved her 49ers. She enjoyed frisbee golf, thunderstorms, music, and she was rarely seen without sunglasses and a cup of coffee. She was one of the most loyal, brutally honest, yet heartfelt people you could ever meet. She was sarcastic, witty, and loved to joke and laugh. She was never afraid to stand up for what and who she believed in and was unapologetically authentic. Family was always the most important thing to her and once you were in, you were in for life whether you were related by blood or not. Throughout the time that she was sick, her biggest concern was that her illness didn't upset or worry anyone, and her girls were always her first and last thought.
She will be welcomed home by both parents; all her grandparents; brothers, Michael Niehoff; Rodney Niehoff; and Kevin Niehoff; a nephew, Ryan Roussel; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She is survived by significant other Bill Ferguson of Wellington, KS; daughters, Erika Niehoff of Wellington, KS, and Brooke (Dustin) Repphan of Grove OK; grandchildren: Shane, Harley, David, Adalyn, Aleeyah, Josslyn, Brantley, Chevelyn, and Gideon; siblings: Randy Niehoff of Mitchell, SD; Brent (Denise) Niehoff of Mitchell, SD; Julie (Rob) Roussel of Pierre, SD; Kerry (Daryl) Mercer of Harper, KS, and Kris Stewart of Wichita, KS; countless extended family members, and her dear friend "Roomie".
A celebration of life will be held at Donut Bay in Wellington on her birthday, Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Bryce Day Memorial Foundation. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
