CLINTON TWP – Pamela "Pam" May Scramlin, 77, passed away July 2, 2025, peacefully at home and surrounded by her family.
Pam was born Nov. 10, 1947, in Detroit. She was raised in Redford, MI. Pam is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Phillip "Phil"; children, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Lundy and Jeffrey (Danielle) Scramlin; and cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Taylor, McKenna, Grant, and Carter. She is also survived by her sister Sandra "Sandy" Vitale, as well as 7 nieces and 1 nephew.
Pam graduated from Lee M. Thurston High School in Redford, MI in 1965. She attended Central Michigan University where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. On Dec. 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to Phil. After Phil was injured while in service with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, she relocated to Pennsylvania to be with him during his recovery. They returned to Michigan in 1971 and eventually settled in Clinton Twp. where they raised their family. She and Phil were active members of the local Newcomers Club in the area and made many life-long friends through the group. In 1983, Pam went back to school to pursue a degree in accounting and spent much of her career at T.I. Automotive until her retirement in 2006.
Pam enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping, golfing, sailing, snorkeling, and especially traveling. Pam and Phil explored the U.S. in their Winnebago and traveled extensively internationally. After retirement, they began escaping Michigan winters by spending time in Nokomis, FL, where Pam enjoyed playing cards, golfing and spending time with friends at the pool and beach.
As we celebrate Pam's life, we reflect on the support and dedication she gave to her family, and the strong friendships she developed and maintained over the years. She will always be remembered as a kind and fun-loving individual who surrounded herself with friends, family, and laughter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wasik Funeral Home, 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd), Shelby Twp. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at the funeral home at 10:00 am.
