Patricia P. Budlong

Budlong, Patricia (Parrish Talmadge), 91, of Palm Harbor Florida, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. Pat was born in Piqua, Ohio to Hugh and Marian Parrish. The family moved to Columbus, Ohio and Pat attended school there. She went to Denison University where she majored in Government and Pre-Law. She was then accepted at Ohio State University's College of Law where she met Joseph Talmadge, a fellow student. They were married a year later.
They had three daughters. Sadly, Joe died quite young. After surviving this devastating loss, Pat eventually married again. In 1976 she married W. Arthur Budlong, who blessed the family with his son and daughter. Pat continued to work part-time as a bookkeeper and also as property manager of a large complex once owned by her father. Due to Arthur's work in telecommunications, they moved several times.
They retired in 1993 to Palm Harbor, Florida where they enjoyed being near the water, playing bridge, being members of Presbyterian Church of Palm Harbor and having the freedom to travel. Pat also enjoyed singing in the church choir, volunteering in many ways and reading constantly. In addition, she was very active in the League of Women Voters of North Pinellas County where she served as an officer and presented lectures on international affairs.
Most notably of all was her limitless love for "her girls" (and their spouses) and her dear grandchildren. She was overjoyed when around her family and was their greatest cheerleader. She will be dearly missed.
Pat was predeceased by her late husbands, Joseph D. Talmadge and W. Arthur Budlong, and also her step-son, Allan Budlong.
She is survived by her daughters, Marian Fierst (John), Patricia Brewer (Richard), LauraLee Hoffman (John), and step-daughter, Joy Thompson. She is also survived by grandchildren Matthew Hargraves and Valerie Hargraves; also great-grandchildren Aidan and Avery Gaunt.
A service to celebrate Pat's life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Palm Harbor, 2021 Nebraska Avenue, Palm Harbor, Florida 34683. A reception will immediately follow. Donations in Pat's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society if one so desires.
