Patricia Lynne Lotz Mulvaney, 72, of Shreveport, LA, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2023.  She was born in California, MO, on December 8, 1950 into a military family.  Patricia grew up in many places including Illinois, Delaware, France, and Arizona where she graduated from Palo Verde High School in Tucson.  Patricia continued her education obtaining a B.S., Business Administration from The University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, Public Policy from Georgetown University, Washington D.C.  Patricia also worked for Georgetown University and after retiring, moved to Shreveport, LA to be closer to family.  However, Patricia was never one to put her feet up and soon discovered a new calling working at The Providence House.  She loved giving back to her community and truly had a servant’s heart.  Patricia loved her work family at The Providence House, which she believed was doing the Lord’s work.  Patricia was a member of the Robinson Film Center, the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations, the Louisiana Coalition of Domestic Violence Programs, and the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault.  Patricia loved spontaneous road trips, Arizona sunsets, binge watching BBC mysteries, reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, but most of all spending time with her children and beloved grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Donna LaRue Lotz and parents, Edward P. Lotz and Vera Lucille Lotz. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Emily Mulvaney Bearden and husband, Sean of Shreveport, LA and Philip P. Mulvaney and wife, Heather of Brambleton, VA; her four grandchildren, Zachary Bearden, Jacob Bearden, Megan Mulvaney and Caitlin Mulvaney; her brother, Darrel Lotz of Arlington, MA and sister, Karen Eger of Chandler, AZ; her nieces, Karen Lotz-McMillen and husband, John of Wellesley, MA and Dana Eger of Medford, MA; her great-nephew, John Henry Lotz-McMillen of Washington, DC and great-niece, Ravelle McMillen of Wellesley, MA; and her aunt, Norma Altis and husband, Hubert of Liberty, MO, and extended family and friends. Last, but not least, Patricia is survived by her beloved Shih Tzu rescue, Chico, from Pet Savers of Shreveport, whom Patricia always said “rescued” her.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Patricia’s team of physicians, nurses, and staff at Christus Highland Hospital and Cancer Treatment Center, Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists, Breast Care Specialists, and The Family Doctors of Shreveport.  The family also extends their heartfelt thanks to The Providence House of Shreveport, Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Homes, Neelima Chintapalli, M.D., and David Green, M.D.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials, in memory of Patricia, may be made to, The Providence House, 814 Cotton St, Shreveport, LA 71101 or theprovidencehouse.com/donate.
