Paul Bryan Fibelstad

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Bryan Fibelstad on April 27th, 2023.
Paul, at the age of 85, passed away at the Accura Nursing Home on April 27th, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born January 22nd, 1938, to Margaret and Vernon Fibelstad of Joice, Iowa.
Paul graduated from Joice High School in 1955 and then went on to attend the University of Iowa.
Paul married Delores Kinney, daughter of Willis and Ruth Kinney on August 29th, 1959. They moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 1969 where they raised their 3 daughters, Paula, Cindy, and Kim.
Paul worked for Berkley & Company in Spirit Lake for 27 years. Including 10 years spent in Canada and 2 years in California. He was grateful to have the opportunity to travel to other countries through his work, including Taiwan and Japan. Paul retired from Berkley in 1996. After retirement he and Dee bought a motor home. They travelled to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes football games and really enjoyed tailgating and meeting new friends. They took many trips to Canada to spend time with their daughters and their families as well as some friends and for several years they spent their winters in Texas.
Paul was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved playing baseball when he was younger & enjoyed watching sports, including golf, baseball, football, and basketball. He was a huge Hawkeye fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He coached the girls in their sports when they were younger and participated in many community organizations and projects.
Paul is survived by his wife, Delores, of 63 years. His 3 daughters, Paula (Grant), Cindy (Jeff), Kim (Brian), his grandchildren Mike, Sarah, Lindsay, Alyssa, Kirsten, Barret, and Erin. Step grandchildren Kylie and Colby and 8 great grandchildren. Siblings, Jerry (Gayle), Vince, Vera (Richard), Ron (Judy).
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Vern Fibelstad and Margaret and John Berry, in-laws Willis Kinney and Ruth Wells, nephew Jodi and sister-in-law, Eileen.
Memorial Services will be held at The First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa on Monday, May 1st, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services at the church. Services will be live streamed on the Church's website: www.fpcspiritlake.org/stream
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
