Paul David Jacobson

Paul David Jacobson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong learner, passed away on August 23, 2025, in Falmouth, MA. He was 85.

Born in 1939 to Rabbi Abraham and Sonia Jacobson, Paul grew up in Haverhill, MA. A gifted student, he entered MIT at 16 and later completed postgraduate work in Sheffield, England.

Paul spent much of his career as a metallurgical engineer at General Electric, holding several patents. He dabbled in real estate and invested in a local gymnasium. He and Bev raised their three children in Durham, NH, a town he chose for its family-friendly feel and university energy. Later, he taught economics and statistics at Cape Cod Community College after retiring to East Falmouth.

Known for his sharp intellect and love of bridge, chess, and Boston sports, he enjoyed fishing and long summers at the Cape filled with lively discussions and adventures with his grandchildren.

Above all, Paul adored Beverly with whom he recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. They were true partners in every sense, facing life-and Alzheimer's-with love and resilience.

He is survived by Beverly, his children and their spouses -- Stephen and Marina, Jeffrey and Nikki, Michelle and Brad -- and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services with on-site burial will be held at Falmouth Jewish Congregation at 12pm on Tuesday August 26th. Burial will follow in the Falmouth Jewish Congregational Cemetery, followed by luncheon at the family home. The family will sit shiva between 6 and 8.30 Tuesday and Wednesday.
