I want to thank all of you, family and friends for being here to honor the life of Ashley Marie Johnson Rousse and to share with us the memories about the way she enriched our lives. Ashley was born on July 21, 1987 to Patrick and Patricia Johnson. She immediately became the joy of our lives. She grew up in Gretna and attended St. Cletus, Immaculata and West Jefferson high schools. After graduation she met the love of her life, Jason Rousse. After dating for ten years, they decided to get married. A year later they were blessed to have a beautiful little girl that they named Tyler Drew. Ashley embraced motherhood and strived to develop a strong family bond with her husband, Jason. They created a great family unit, all while developing memories that would last forever. Ashley always had an eye for fashion and loved creating new and exciting looks. One of her favorite things to do was to dress up for Halloween, She would spend weeks getting the perfect family costumes for the event. For 19 years Ashley was Jason’s constant, his rock, his love. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, adventure, challenges they overcame together, and a love that only grew stronger with time. They were the definition of a partnership and unconditional love. Ashley embraced motherhood and family life with a new fierceness for life. Together with her husband, daughter, and of course her beloved Rottweilers, her life was complete. Her caring for her loved ones became her first and foremost priority. Even when her own health was in peril at times. She always tried to be strong for her family. Though Ashley is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in every act of kindness we do in her name I’ll love you forever.
