Pete attended Elkins HS in WVA and moved to Virginia shortly thereafter. He was a member of Calvary's Love Ministries Church and the VFW Auxiliary (*joined under his brother Nick who served in Vietnam). He worked as a mechanic at Brenco and Honeywell in his career. Pete spent the last few years helping his good friend Mat South at City Point Garage in Hopewell, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Pete loved seeing his friends there and learning new things, while sharing comradery and knowledge with the other men, especially "Uncle" Jack Stanley. He thought of Mat as a son. His love for drag racing was always in his heart. Pete enjoyed spending time with his good friend Kenny Young, helping with the drag cars and watching his friend race. When not at the garage or drag races, he enjoyed woodworking, welding, building and creating in his own garage. He was always making things for family and friends while his favorite "classic" tunes were playing on the radio. His favorite band was Pink Floyd, who he was fortunate to see live in concert. When relaxing, he loved the beach, the mountains and quiet time with his wife and children. He would share interesting talks with Bryce over technology and machinery. Brittany and he would research and discuss healthy living and family. Brandi and Papa Pete would share happenings in the lives of grandchildren and many laughs. They all shared a wonderful love for each other. His interests were many, to include motorcycles, dogs, horses, fishing, gravely tractors, how things worked or were made, Mountaineers football, music and so much more.
He will always be considered, by his wife Connie, her love, friend, soulmate and confidant. Her love for him runs very deep. They enjoyed so much together including following roads less travelled, beach hideaways and so much more.
Pete has been loved fully, is forever loved, will never be forgotten and is truly missed.
The family would like to invite all family and friends to Pete's Celebration of Life to be held on the 11th of October at 11:11 in the morning in honor of Pete's and Connie's "special" time. It will take place at the Disputanta Ruritan Club located at 8961 County Dr in Disputanta. It is also being requested that in lieu of flowers or food, etc. that you please either donate to family to help with final expenses or to the Stravix Institute (VCU) for Liver Research, whichever you may choose, per Pete's request.
His final resting place, chosen by Pete, will be at the top of Cheat Mountain in WVA. Family will gather to sprinkle ashes there this fall. The date will be announced later.
Aaron
