Philip Allison Short, loving husband, father and grandfather passed on October 16, 2023. Phil was born in Palmyra, Me. 92 yrs. ago to Allie and William Short, 3rd of 6 children. Pittsfield, Me. was his home until his draft into Army in 1952 where he served in Germany 18 months during Korean War. Upon graduating from University of Me., 1956, he moved to NYC where he entered the Estate & Financial Planning business with New York Life. He and family moved to Houston, TX in 1974 and he continued his career with National Life of Vermont. He earned several awards throughout his career.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sally, from Scarsdale, NY., and his 2 beautiful daughters, Kathryn Short and Allison Short Hickman and family: husband, Dan and grandchildren, Abby and Andrew – residing in Dallas. Sadly, in 2002, he was pre-deceased by his son of 40 yrs, Stephen. Phil shared his love of sports by coaching Steve's Little League baseball team until Steve entered high school. He loved working with Allison/Kathryn in tennis and softball. Additionally, he is survived by his dear, wonderful sister, Mavis, residing in Minneapolis.
In 1997 Phil and Sally moved to Montgomery, TX where they lived happily playing golf and tennis, and enjoying other activities with friends in Walden.
