Phyllis J. Wethington, 79 of Avon, passed away on January 29, 2022 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville. She was born on September 13, 1942 in Indianapolis, to the late Mary Goins Coslett and Robert Winkle. Phyllis married Lawrence P. Wethington on March 05, 1960 in Indianapolis. She worked at General Motors for 21 years, retiring in 1993. She and her husband attended The Blended Church in Indianapolis. Phyllis enjoyed painting, was an avid reader, and liked to crochet. Her most favorite past-time was being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who lovingly refer to her as "Nan" or "Nana". Survivors include her husband of almost 62 years, Lawrence Wethington of Avon; children, Frank (Terri) Wethington of Poland, IN., Mark (Christy) Wethington of Cumming, GA., Angela Wethington of Avon; siblings, Chuck (Dee Dee) Winkle of Danville, Mary Lou Moussette of Camby, Kathy (David) Ray of Avon, Eloise Cather of Indianapolis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her parents and sons, Lawrence Wethington, Jr. and Michael Wethington, preceded her in death. A private graveside service will be held with burial to follow in the Danville South Cemetery. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospitals for Children Attn: Office of Development 2900 N Rocky Point Dr Tampa, FL 33607.
