Mr. Gomes has and will continue to be a part of the stories I tell when I speak of my experiences in athletics. His speeches on not taking your "gunga bag" overloaded with stuff have brought a smile to my face for decades. He was always watching out for anyone/anything that needed help. His dedication to the athletes, students, fields (even when we tried to run on them when they were too wet and risked ruining them) was unparalleled. His kindness and giving however discrete did not go unnoticed. Hearing of his passing has truly brought tears to my eyes as he was lived in such a way that he was an example of how we should be. His legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in his memory and I will never pack a bag that is too heavy because of him.

Rocky will always be remembered as a respected man in the Carver community. He expected respectful behavior and good sportsmanlike conduct from every athlete and fan in Carver. Prayers for his family and loved ones. It was an honor to know him.
