Richard T. Krubeck, 80, of Grayslake, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025.

Richard was a proud double alumnus of DePaul University, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Juris Doctor degrees. His sharp intellect led him to a successful career, serving as legal counsel for various Chicagoland corporations for over four decades, retiring from Snap-On in his 70s.

While his career was significant, Richard's greatest joy was his family. He created lasting memories through their beloved annual tradition of vacationing in Marco Island, a ritual he started with them in the 1980s. A true Chicago sports fan, he passionately rooted for the White Sox and his DePaul Blue Demons. He loved his daily tradition of reading both the Wall Street Journal and the Chicago Tribune.

A man who always made time for what mattered, Richard could be counted on to be at his children's and grandchildren's activities. He was a committed parishioner at St. Joseph and generously volunteered his time as a board member for ElderCARE of Lake County, supporting senior well-being in the area. Richard will be fondly remembered for his witty sense of humor, his generous spirit, and his role as a great dad and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard is survived by his daughters Kimberly (Cory) Hinrichs and Cynthia (Rick) Mares; and his grandchildren Hannah, Finley, Emily and Ryan. He is preceded in death by his wife Linda (2020).

Funeral Mass will be 10:30am Thursday Oct 2nd at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm Wednesday Oct. 1st at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to ElderCARE of Lake County www.eldercarelakecounty.org/. Funeral info (847) 362-2626
