Robert Edward Register, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. He was born in Lake Worth, Florida on November 6, 1934 to Ruth Halstead Register and John Register. He graduated from Wildwood High School in 1952 and received a Bachelors degree from Rollins College in 1973.
Bob served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force as an OSI Special Agent, and 11 years for a NASA contractor as a TAL Site Security Rep. He has lived all over the world, and moved back to Florida in 2013.
Bob was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church during his high school years, and rejoined the church in 2014 after returning to Florida.
Bob was a man of many interests, but he especially loved gardening, playing softball, square dancing, and playing music. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
Although he accomplished much during his life, Bob was most proud of his family. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; 3 children, Ray Register (Debi), Robin Rader, and Janelle Shepard (Tom); 9 grandchildren, Chad Register, Chanin Goetz (Mike), Shawna Simrell (Adam), Chase Register (Ahlia), Jonathan Alldredge, Corey Alldredge, Jerika DiGiacomo, Thomas Shepard, and Emma Shepard; 6 great grandchildren, Rylan Goetz, Kensey Goetz, Jack Simrell, Callie Register, Liam DiGiacomo, and Lochlan DiGiacomo; and two sisters, Norma Richardson and Donna Gunsalus.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 12 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford, Florida with a service to follow at 11:30 AM, presiding by Pastor Paul Watson. Burial will take place at Nichols Cemetery. Full honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force MacDill Honor Guard.
Pallbearers: Ray Register, Chase Register, Tom Shepard, Thomas Shepard, Jonathan Alldredge,
Alan Hagan.
