I had Dr. Nakon for Chemistry in 1976. He was an excellent professor who made a very difficult subject.......fun! Reading about "the rest of the story" in his obituary is fascinating. RIP.

Dr Nakon pulled me aside in chemistry lab and told me I could do anything, I just needed more confidence in myself. I just needed to believe in myself.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I had Dr. Nakon for Inorganic Chemistry back in ~1998, and I fondly remember his booming and gravelly voice. I loved reading about his personality traits and interests outside of the university. Condolences to his family.
