Guest Book
Roger Mitchell, 63, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 22, 2024 after a sudden diagnosis of Glioblastoma on May 1,2024. Roger was born on January 14, 1961 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Above all Roger was a faithful Christ follower. His life's passion was to glorify the Lord in all he did, even through his final struggle. For all who knew him, his faithfulness was evident. His greatest love was his family and he especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
His career spanned a variety of food manufacturing - frozen food, wine, dairy and baked goods. Recently he diversified into a spring manufacturing environment. In recent years he started offering handyman services and was building some great friendships with his clients. He was looking forward to that as his retirement gig, especially in Florida.
He loved watching Premier League Soccer and was an ardent Manchester United fan from a very young age. His favorite TV show was Blue Bloods for the honor and valor it portrayed.
Roger was preceded in death by his newborn daughter, Nicola, his mom Meryl Mitchell and beloved grandparents Alan and Kay Watt.
Those he leaves behind who wait expectantly to join him one day are his wife of 42 years, Beth Mitchell; his two precious daughters and their husbands, Nadine and Kyle Crocker and Amy-Kaye and Joel Rayl; his 5 grandchildren who were the light of his life Colin and Kora Crocker, and Mackenzie, Ben and Henry Rayl; his father, John Mitchell; his brothers, Robin (Gayle) Mitchell and Kim (Jeanne) Mitchell; his sister, Merianne (Mike) Castellarin; his brother-in-law, Robin (Amanda) Stokes; and his nieces and nephews, Lauren Mitchell, Maggie and Philippe Mitchell, Rachel, Connor and Matthew Castellarin, Annabel and Aeden Stokes; and many work colleagues and friends in South Africa, Canada and the USA
We miss Roger deeply and everything we looked forward to, but we rejoice that he is in the presence of Jesus.
Friends are invited to calling hours from 6:30-8:30pm on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Grace Church 754 Ghent Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333 and a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 10am also at Grace Church 754 Ghent Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333. Pastor Jeff Bogue is officiating.
