Ronald Gene Parrott, a lifelong resident of Shelby Township, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born at home on March 23, 1943, to Floyd and Sadie (née Howcroft) Parrott, Ron was proud to call Shelby Township his lifelong home. He graduated from Utica High School and served in the National Guard. A hardworking and dedicated man, Ron spent 37 years with Ford Motor Company before his well-earned retirement in 1995.
On February 26, 1966, Ron married the love of his life, Janet Mills, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shelby Township. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children, sharing 59 wonderful years of marriage.
Ron was a true outdoorsman. He found joy and peace in nature, whether it was hunting up north, working in his yard, tending to his vegetable garden, or spending a day on the golf course. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed many games over the years. But above all, Ron cherished time with his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a caring brother. Known for his kind and gentle spirit, Ron touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Janet Parrott; children, Shelley (George) Lehti and Kenneth (Rebecca) Parrott; granddaughter, Hadley Parrott; and sister, Carol Duvall. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Sadie Parrott.
A memorial gathering to honor Ron's life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gramer Funeral Home, Diener Chapel, 48271 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township, Michigan 48317.
