Ronald Setzer, 76, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, in the Town of Rome, WI. He was born in 1947. Ron, known for his jack-of-all-trades nature and willingness to lend a hand to friends and neighbors, will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barb, his daughters Carri Wieser (Todd) and Tricia Leissner (Jim), brother Gary Setzer and niece Cheri Setzer. Ron also leaves behind his two beloved one-eyed cats, Willie and Winky. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Elaine and Charles Setzer and nephew Terry Setzer.
Having served in the Army Reserves, Ron exemplified dedication and commitment throughout his military service and life.
In his free time, Ron was an avid sports fan, often heard loudly in celebration or disappointment of a Brewers's or Packer's play. He thoroughly enjoyed the game of golf whether on the course with family and friends, or watching it on TV. He also found solace in working in his yard, enjoying lake life while embracing the beauty of nature and wildlife.
The family will not be holding a public service or funeral, but rather a private celebration of life to honor Ron's memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the South Wood County Humane Society in Ron's name https://www.swchs.com/donate/ The organization helps local animals which always held a special place in his heart. He would be grateful for any support given to them.
Ron will forever be remembered for his kind heart, his willingness to help others, and his passion for life. May his soul rest in peace.
