Rose Marie Foushee, 78, died Friday, November 1, 2024.
She was born August 22, 1946, daughter of George Maurice and Helen Elizabeth Simpson Cahoe. Rose was a retired Executive Assistant for healthcare companies and architectural firms. She was a graduate of Fern Creek High School, recently attending her class reunion and a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Flannery (Jerry, deceased), Joyce Downs(Jerry); and brother Borgia Cahoe (Chris).
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Foushee (Leslie Combs); son, Jeff Foushee; and the best doggie, Bayly. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, best friend and chauffeur Fay Hoffmann (Robert, deceased). She was a proud aunt to all of her nieces and nephews and had wonderful friends that she considered family.
Rose was very proud of her children and supportive of their educational achievements and successes. She was a talented artist like her mother and in turn, Rose passed her abilities to her daughter. Rose's art included crewel works, quilts, and various crafts. She loved watching and feeding the birds, gardening and all flowers. Rose loved all things Kentucky Derby, horses and going to the track. A terrific cook, like her mother, Rose put much love into meals for her family.
Funeral mass is 10am Friday, November 8, 2024 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2040 Buechel Bank Road, Louisville, KY, 40218 with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 2-7pm Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY, 40291.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Mass of the Air or the Kentucky Humane Society.
