Russell C. Allen of East Bridgewater passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2025. Russell was raised in Mountain Lakes NJ and was educated in the Mountain Lakes School System as well as The Admiral Farragut Academy in Pine Beach NJ. A graduate of Mountain Lakes High School, he was a pitcher for the Lakers baseball team and wore jersey #18. After graduation Russell joined the United States Navy and proudly served for many years. He attended County College of Morris and got his first job with Williams and Watts in New Jersey. His career brought him up to Massachusetts and he stayed in the area, working with companies that built parts and equipment for the US Navy. He was also the owner of the Sign-A-Rama franchise store in Raynham MA.
Russ' most recent position was managing the Fiberglass Gutter Company in Pembroke, a job he enjoyed with a great boss and good employees.
Russell was a big sports fan, especially baseball and football. He would root for the Mets, Red Sox, Giants, Patriots and Rams (his childhood favorite). He enjoyed playing in a softball league with friends on the VFW team, playing golf, his Fiat, Capri, Lincoln and Jeep and most of all his beloved German Shepherds.
Russell was the son of the late Edward Warner Allen Jr. and Gwendolyn Latour Rosler. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" Lynch Allen. He was the devoted father of Russell “Chris” Allen Jr. of E. Bridgewater and Edward Allen of E. Bridgewater. Russell was the brother of Scott Allen, his wife Jeanne of Flanders NJ, Dana Allen of Westport NY and was predeceased by his brother Edward "Ted" Allen III, who's wife was Kathleen. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday March 18, 2025 from 5-8PM in the MacKinnon Funeral Home in Whitman. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday March 19, 2025, at 10AM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Russell’s memory to the S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue, Inc. P.O. Box 840215, St. Augustine FL 32080 904.460.0556
