Our beloved husband, father of four, passed from this life on Thursday, June 20, 2024, doing what he loved, flying.
Sage Stephens Teichert was born on August 20, 1980 to Stephen Wade and Julie Stephens Teichert in Payson, Utah. He was raised in Benjamin, UT, Cokeville, WY, Oregonhouse, CA and Ruby Valley, NV. As a young boy Sage loved to watch the planes fly overhead as he worked on the family ranch pushing cows. This is where his love of flying began and remained with him his entire life.
After graduating from high school, Sage served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Independence, Missouri.
On July 7, 2005, he married the love of his life, Sarah Gardiner in the Manti, Utah Temple. Sage then attended college where he received an Associate's Degree in Aviation Science from Utah Valley University, and later an Associate's Degree in Sales Science.
Sage and Sarah were blessed with four beautiful children and Sage loved spending time teaching and being with his family.
Sage was a master craftsman and could fix, restore or build anything – including an airplane. He loved skiing, hanging out and adventuring with his family. He worked hard to provide for his family whether that be in various sales positions, building cabinets, ranching, flight instructing or aerial application (crop-dusting). He was a devoted father and husband. He was a member of the National Aerial Applicators Association and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Sage is survived by his wife of nearly 19 years, Sarah Teichert; his four children, Flint, Eliza, Steele and Eden Teichert; his parents, Stephen and Julie Teichert; his siblings, Seth & Natalie Teichert, Gina & Brandon McDonald, Wes Teichert, Calli & Austin Knudsen, and Tayler Teichert. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tessa Bell.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ~ Terreton Stake Center, 1297 E. 1500 N., Terreton, ID. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at the Terreton Stake Center from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Terreton, ID under the care of the Anderson Family Funeral Home.

Sage was one of the finest men and most professional pilot I've ever known. He came to work every day with a smile on his face and a kind word to everyone he encountered. He approached every day and whatever work that was to be done, with enthusiasm.
The first time I met him, our employer, Leif Isaacson, introduced him as "Saggy T-shirt." When I looked confused, Leif explained how someone had called wanting to verify the employment of one Saggy T-shirt and it finally dawned on him that they were talking about Sage and didn't know how to pronounce his name. Naturally, his nickname from then on was "Saggy."
Sage touched the lives of so many people and we all feel a loss from his passing. Last October, my wife Mary and I celebrated our wedding at the Red Butte Botanical Gardens in SLC. Sage and his lovely wife Sarah, honored us with their presence. I'm attaching a picture from the event with Sage sporting his signature smile. That's how I'll always remember him.
