Sara Jane Hand

Sara Jane Hand, of Newcastle, Oklahoma, passed from this life on October 28, 2022, at the age of 73. She was born in Seminole, Oklahoma, on October 5, 2022, to Charles Raymond & Lucille Sarah (Earles) Owen. Sara attended US Grant High School and was a member of the 1967 graduating class. Following high school, Sara attended college on base at Tinker Air Force Base. She was a financial manager at Tinker Air Force Base and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church. Sara enjoyed painting and singing. She sang in the church choir for years, and she also sang with a trio called "Grateful Heart." Sara enjoyed watching her husband and sons race and build race cars. Sara was an Oklahoma Sooners fan, and her favorite TV show was Blue Bloods. Sara and Tommy enjoyed traveling, going to casinos, and their pride and joy was their grandkids. She was witty and you always knew where she stood on issues. Sara was a very giving person with a kind and loving heart. She was a hard worker and a wonderful homemaker and always provided for her family. Sara was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her first love was her Lord and Savior, and being with her husband, Tommy the love of her life for 50 years. Sara loved being with all her family, especially with her grandchildren. Sara touched the hearts of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by 2 sons, Thomas Hand, Jr. "TJ" & wife Amber, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; and Guy Hand & wife, Sheryl, of Newcastle, Oklahoma; and 8 grandchildren. Sara is preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Lucille Owen; her beloved husband, Thomas Hand, Sr.; 1 brother, Charles Owen; and 2 sisters, Ann Owen, and Lou Owen.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday, October 31, 2022, and from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, I Moore, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, with Pastor Danny Frazee officiating. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, SW 104th & Walker, in Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
