Scott Joseph Johnson, age 68 years, of Neenah, passed away at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah, Saturday, March 1, 2025 due to medical complications following brain surgery for a malignant brain tumor. He was blessed with some amazing last hours of life with his family.
Scott was born on July 4, 1956 in Neenah, WI son of the late Mildred (Gray) Johnson and the late Dan E. Johnson. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Menasha, WI and St. John's University, Collegeville, MN. After realizing accounting was not his calling, he became a full-time house painter. He was your go-to guy for painting questions and other handiwork.
On June 7, 1986 Scott married Charlene Bolliger and made Neenah, WI their home, raising 4 children. He began his career with Multi-Color Corporation (formerly WS Packaging) in 1995, most recently serving as a quality technician, and achieved 30 years of employment.
Scott loved spending time with family and friends, and his infectious laugh was always a part of those moments. He treasured being a grandfather and enjoyed golfing, brewing coffee, putting on his "street legal" firework shows, mystery books, movies, studying the Bible, and serving at church. He loved Jesus and his walk with God was his main stay.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Charlene Johnson; children: Kevin Johnson of Madison, WI; Kelsey (Troy) Keller and their daughters Atalie and Braylie (aka "jibber jabber") all of Neenah, WI; Isaac (Janine) Rajala-Johnson of Appleton, WI; Georgia (Casyn) Bowers of Neenah, WI; his sisters: Connie (Stan) Suchta of Cottage Grove, MN; Helen Gloudemans of Neenah, WI; his brothers: Larry (Lynn) Johnson of Saratoga Springs, NY; Chuck (Jan) Johnson of Lady Lake, FL; Rick (Lisa) Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law: Linda Bolliger (Arthur Okazaki) of New Orleans, LA; brother-in-law: Brent Bolliger of Neenah, WI; also survived by many nieces and nephews including his Godchild, Christina Ellerbrock of Neenah. In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brothers: Tim Johnson, Steve Johnson, Christopher Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ralph and Norma Bolliger; sister-in-law Alize Johnson; brother-in-law Ron Gloudemans; great-nephew Carson Ludka.
A Celebration of Life for Scott with a time to share memories will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Pathways Church (311 W Evergreen Dr, Appleton, WI) with Chaplain Tony Gutierrez officiating. Visitation begins at 9am followed by a service at 11:30am. The family looks forward to gathering with all those who will join them to celebrate and remember Scott. Inurnment will be at St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah, WI.
Scott's family would like to extend a special thank you to the following: Dr. Randy Johnson of Neuroscience Group; ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah Neurology Unit, Rehabilitation Unit, and ICU; Dr. Jacob Minor, Surgical Associates of Neenah; Multi-Color Corporation; Lawlss Coffee; and Pathways Church.

I worked with Scott for the past 10 years, he truly had a great soul. Scott was always in a good mood, and his contagious laugh kept us all in high spirits. He was a joy to be around, and will most definitely be missed. I'm fortunate to have crossed paths with such a genuine person. My deepest condolences to Scott's family and friends. May his memory live on forever
