Funeral services were held for Sharon Renee McKenzie Fruge, age 63, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., and Rev. Steve Beard officiated. Interment followied at McKenzie Cemetery near Homer, LA. Visitation wias at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m., prior to the service.
Sharon was born June 4, 1962, in Homer, LA, to Eugene and Jean McKenzie. She entered into rest on June 9, 2025, in Homer, LA, after a short battle with lung disease. Sharon started working to provide for her children in 1981. She has been serving others and running things ever since. Sharon begin working in 2009 as an employee for Horn Holdings and has spent the last sixteen years as the general manager at the Minden location. Her biggest joy in life was supporting her grandchildren in their pursuits.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Jean McKenzie; and grandson, Nicco Curry.
She is survived by her four children: Crystal, Bubba and wife Erin, Kelly and wife Ashley, and Mary; four siblings: Delia Dupree, Robert and wife Stacee, James, and Jason and wife Callie; sixteen grandchildren: Emma, Cole, Rachel, Dixie, Mason, Austin, Hunter, Ayden, Aaron, Alliyah, Beaux, Ana Trayson, Javen, Cassie, and Robert; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sharon’s family would like to express their gratitude to Horn Holdings, Dr. Mark Haynes and Dr. Scott Haynes for the care and compassion shown her during her illness.
Pallbearers wwere Mason McKenzie, Cole Modisette, Austin Fruge, Ayden Fruge, Hunter Fruge, Broadus Davis, Roland Bearden, Aaron Fruge, and Demerius Fields.
