Ms. Sharon F. Soldato, age 76, of Hinsdale, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly from a sudden illness on August 28, 2025 in the Accentcare Hospice Suites in Wilmington Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware.
Born on December 15, 1948, in Boston, Sharon was the daughter of the late Bertha Cook McDougall and Gabriel McDougall, who were from Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was one of 13 children and grew up in Pittsfield, graduating from Pittsfield High School, Class of 1967.
For over 20 years, Sharon was the dedicated manager of Bradlees department store. In her retirement, her compassionate spirit led her to care for the elderly at Sweet Brook Nursing Home and later, to work with elementary school children at Reid and Sterns schools. Sharon touched countless lives with her warm and caring nature.
Sharon had a love for life that was infectious. A devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox, she spent her summers cheering on her favorite team. She found immense joy at the beach, with her recent trip to Hawaii being a cherished memory. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she treasured every moment she spent with them. Sharon's positive and upbeat personality touched everyone she met. She was known for her endless love of people and her unwavering desire to help others. Her legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and a spirit that brightened the lives of those around her.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Stacy Soldato and Gordie Soldato; and her cherished grandchildren, Kelsey Hadley, Joshua Hadley, Mitchell Soldato, Samuel Soldato, and Oliver Soldato. She also leaves behind many beloved siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Sharon's life will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 4 p.m. at Zucchini's Restaurant in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sharon's memory to the American Cancer Society.
