Sheila Ann Ouimet, aged 75, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, in Palm Harbor, FL, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 10, 1949, in Middleboro, MA, Sheila lived a life marked by kindness, intelligence, and a deep love for her family, church and community
After completing her Bachelor of Science at Bridgewater State College and furthering her education with a Master of Science in Library Science from Simmons College, Sheila dedicated her life to the pursuit of knowledge and education. Her career as a librarian at the Northeast Baptist School of Ministry (NEBSOM) was a testament to her commitment to learning and her desire to share it with others.
Sheila's passion for the arts, specifically piano and singing, filled her home with music and joy. Her talents were not only a personal solace but also a source of connection with others. Reading was another of Sheila's passions, allowing her to travel to different worlds and times through the pages of a book.
Above all, Sheila cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted husband, Doug, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring partnership of 52 years. Her legacy of love continues through her daughters, Noemi Sinos and Anne Elise Yencarelli, and her adored grandchildren, Drew Greska and Everlyn Yencarelli, her sons-in-law, Alex Sinos and Jake Yencarelli, her sister, Kathy Sautter and her brother, Joe Murphy. Each of them carries forward her spirit of love, compassion, and curiosity.
Sheila's life was a reflection of the words that best describe her: loving, kind, intelligent and faith-filled. Her gentle demeanor and thoughtful approach to life's challenges were a comfort to all who knew her. She approached every situation with a warm smile and an open heart, making her a cherished friend to many.
Her church community at Providence Presbyterian Church (Bradenton) benefited greatly from her presence and her influence extended far beyond the walls of the church and into the hearts of those she met.
Sheila's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, yet her spirit remains a guiding light. Her life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, knowledge, and music, a masterpiece that will be cherished by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we bid farewell to Sheila Ann Ouimet, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire generations to come. Her memory will be treasured, her contributions to education and the arts remembered, and the warmth of her presence deeply missed.
In remembrance of Sheila, let us hold close the memories we shared, the lessons she taught us, and the melodies that she brought into our lives. May we find comfort in knowing that her story is not one of an end, but a beautiful chapter in the ongoing narrative of a family, church and community enriched by her remarkable life. Underneath her are the everlasting arms and she rests in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection
