Shelia Frances Jenkins was born, on June 8, 1958, to the late Betty J. Fields, in Washington, DC. She was educated in the Spartanburg County schools and was a 1976 graduate of Spartanburg High School.
Shelia was a loving, kind and sweet soul. Sheila had a deep and devoted love for her family and expressed it daily. She was noted for being a village mother and mothered and nurtured many who were not her biological children. She was naturally comedic and enjoyed making others smile and laugh. Sheila was a member of Kingdom Builders Baptist Church and was a member of the East Spartanburg Sympathy Ministry. Her favorite color was black.
Shelia was preceded in death, along with her mother, by a son, Dareco Jenkins, and siblings, Twyman Fields and Shirley Fields.
Those left to cherish her fond and loving memories are her devoted husband, Douglas Jenkins of the home; son, Conyers Jenkins of the home; daughters, Katrina Jenkins of Spartanburg, SC and Sabrina Jenkins of Charlotte, NC; brother, Ricky Fields of Las Vegas, NV; aunt, Gloria Fields of Spartanburg, SC; uncles, John E. Fields of Spartanburg, SC and Boyce (Carolyn) Fields of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Trevion Anderson, Jarcoby Geter, Conyus Proctor, III, Messiah Carpenter, Anaria Proctor, Aviance Proctor, and Elijah Ross; great-grandchildren, Katiar Carson and Annunaki Geter; best friend, Daisy Jackson; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
On Friday, May 17, 2024, Shelia transitioned peacefully at her home with her husband at her side. Her loving and kind soul will be a beacon of light and a source of peace for all who loved and knew her.
