Shelley Carroll Taylor Obituary
Shelley Marie Carroll Taylor
Mother, Daughter, Friend
July 8, 1983- May 17, 2024
Shelley was born to Charles and Linda Carroll on Friday, July 8, 1983, at Santa Rosa County Medical Center in Milton, Florida. She was given her name by her father and was bound to be the partner that he had hoped for : "Daddy's girl". At the very early age of five and half months old, it was discovered that Shelley had some health issues which led to her needing to have open heart surgery. This took place at Shands Hospital at The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida; thus, solidifying the family's love of the Florida Gators from then on for their feat of saving Shelley's life. She gradually evolved into a beautiful young lady where she soon met Shelby Taylor and fell in love. Shelley graduated from Laurel Hill School in 2001 and in 2003, she and Shelby had one daughter, Kacy Taylor. Kacy was the pride and joy of Shelley's life, and as a mother she had the privilege of watching her daughter excel in whatever Kacy put her mind to, especially sports. Shelley lived a very full and vibrant life and was well loved by many friends and family alike. She was kindhearted and generous to all that knew her. She had many talents of which she created many arts and crafts, had a green thumb, and had a passion of fixing and restoring many items. She enjoyed watching Gator football and attended many games with her family in " The Swamp" at the University of Florida. Shelley also loved fishing and has fished many roadside streams. She's even been known to check mud puddles after a big rain for fish! Shelley is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Doyle & Merle Carroll; maternal grandfather, Harold Lloyd Deese; and her only sibling, brother Jeremy Keith Carroll. She is survived by her daughter, Kacy Taylor; her parents, Charles & Linda Carroll; grandmother Louise Deese (Nanny); her Aunt Pat Deese Hodson (who always called Shelley her B00-Boo); uncles: Lamar (Edi) Deese, Richard (wife Lorrie) Deese, and Kenny Carroll an well as many other family members and friends.
