Shirley Campe, age 87, of Algona, passed away on April 5, 2024 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday April 13th at the First United Methodist Church in Algona. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg. Visitation will be 9:30 am until service time on Saturday at the church. Shirley's services will be Live Streamed at https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/shirley-campe.
Shirley Ann Wolter, the daughter of Lyle and Vaunita (Findley) Wolter, was born on September 27, 1936 on the family farm near Armstrong, Iowa. In 1955, she graduated from Granada High School in Granada, MN. On August 24, 1957 Shirley was united in marriage with Lowell Ray Campe at St. John's United Church of Christ in Fairmont, MN. Shirley worked with Lowell for Farm Service in Cylinder. She later worked as a Lunch Lady for the Emmetsburg School system.
Shirley enjoyed camping, her dog and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family.
Left to cherish Shirley's memory are her children, Kayra (Warren) Waltman of Algona, Karla Anderson of Waukee and Kevin (Cheryl) Campe of Cherokee; daughter-in-law, Carol Campe of Algona; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Cindy) Wolter of Coon Rapids, MN; and sisters, Rosalie (Jack) Newville of Welcome, MN and Mary (Gerry) Giorgio of Coon Rapids, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kenneth Campe; granddaughter, Katie Mae Anderson; son-in-law, Keith Anderson; and a sister, Phyllis Laite.
