Stephen F. Kugler. Sr., 73 of Wall and Lacey Township, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday November 22, 2021. He left this earthly life to begin life eternal while a patient at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Stephen was born in Belmar and lived his whole life in Wall Township, moving to Lacey Township 3 years ago when he retired. He had worked for Wall Township Department of Public Works for 38 years. The majority of that time was spent running the recycling center on Atlantic Ave in South Wall since its inception. Stephen was always an active participant in his children's lives. A little league coach, and pop warner football father for his son Stephen Jr. and a soccer coach for his daughter Victoria. He went from not knowing how to position the players on the field to bringing them many 1st and 2nd place trophies over the years. Most recently his participation was from the sidelines cheering and encouraging his grandson Nicholas Herrera who is continuing in the Kugler/Herrera soccer tradition. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest enjoyment came from always being available to help his family whenever they needed him.
His one and only football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He would stick with them regardless of what type of season they were having. He was loyal, honest and a true-blue man. He was full of integrity, he didn't put on airs, with him what you saw is what you got. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth. If he didn't like you, you knew it. He lived by the creed; if it doesn't belong to you don't take it, and would always say, "everybody is different!"
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Natalie (Lollie), his children Stephen F. Kugler, Jr. and Victoria K. Kugler Herrera and son-in-law Marcelino Herrera. The light of his life grandson Nicholas Herrera. Stephen is also survived by his sister Dorothy Abercrombie, 4 sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
The world is a much better place for him having lived in it and now a bit sadder place that he's gone. Heaven's gain is our loss but we can take comfort in the knowledge that when it's our time we will join him in our forever home with God the Father, Jesus the Son our friend and brother, and the blessed Holy Spirit, who is our comforter and guide. Of that we can be sure

Lollie thinking of you today. I´m so glad I got to see you both shortly before Steve went home to Jesus. I wonder if he and Harold have seen each other? Hugs to you and to Stevie and Vicky.
