Steve Rogers

Michael Stephen "Steve" Rogers, age 64, of Cave Spring, GA, sadly passed away on December 19, 2024, at a local medical facility surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was born in Centre, AL, on March 13, 1960, to the late Donald Hugh Rogers and Haney Bell Green (formerly Agan). He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter Green.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Glenda Rogers; his devoted stepchildren, Brian Hester (Brandon), Mandy Jacobs (Chris), and Carrie Hayes (Stuart); his grandchildren, Brady Jacobs (Laura), Abby Jacobs, Hedaya Peterson, Ahmad Peterson, Hajar Peterson (Jaber), Noora Peterson, Manny Peterson, and Munira Peterson; his siblings, Adrian Rogers (Gay), Marsha Cannon, Glenda Kelly (David), Renee Spears, and Jeff Rogers; as well as several extended family members.
Steve was the kind of man who appreciated the simple joys of life. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf, took pride in teaching himself to play the guitar, loved to garden, and was an incredibly active person. Steve was a Rome City fireman for over 10 years and retired later in life as a large loss claims insurance adjuster with Progressive. He loved to travel and go camping with his family. He spent a lot of time over the years at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, and took delight in watching his family play, explore, and spend quality time there. He was very involved in his grandchildren's lives and was always there to support them by attending softball tournaments, basketball games, and tennis matches. Steve truly loved his family unconditionally and while this loss is heavy on their hearts, the love he gave will forever be with them.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Tony Cargle. Serving as pallbearers will be Brady Jacobs, LaDon Qualls, Kyle Cannon, Chris Spears, Casey Rogers, Samuel Silver, Dillon Silver, and Luke Silver.
Interment will follow the service at Cave Spring Cemetery.
