The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; he makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!
Habakkuk 3:19 Amplified Version
Sue Jan Ganier was born December 15, 1948, to Rubin and Mary Lee Canonge and departed us for Heaven on January 23, 2024.
She was a member of Salter Chapel A.M.E Church in Bogalusa, LA before moving to Lafayette, LA. She was also a member of Trinity C.M.E. Church for many years and has been a member of Crossroads Church in Lafayette for the last twenty-five years. She was an elementary, middle school, and high school educator in both Lafayette Parish and St. Landry Parish for over 40 years. In that time, she impacted the lives of countless families in and around the Lafayette area. Her sacrifice of love, time, and passion was unparalleled in the lives of her own children.
Building a solid foundation and legacy of God's love, she was married to her lifetime love, Gregory Vincent Ganier, for 52 years. She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Peggy Olinde and her husband Gary of Marrero, LA, four children including Ms. Nicolette Darjean, Ms. Shaun Broussard, Timothy Ganier and his wife Kally Ganier, and Michael Ganier and his wife Christina Ganier, nine grandchildren Victor and Victoria Darjean, Ian and Sydnie Broussard, Gavin, Adelyn, and Maddyn Ganier, Christian and Nikolai Ganier. Forever a standing memorial a life lived obediently for God, a faithful witness of Jesus's life, and spreading the infectious joy and
comfort of the Holy Spirit, Sue will be earthly missed until we join her in Heaven with her father and mother, Rubin and Mary Lee Canonge, and her grandparents, Alfred and Pearl Warddles.
