The most beautiful young man, Taylor E. Richards of Ft. Wayne, IN formerly of Lakeville & Bremen, was taken from his family and friends on November 5, 2025 at the young age of 24 years old. This was the result of a motorcycle accident on October 5, 2025. Taylor was born on February 15, 2001 in Mishawaka, IN as the first-born child of his parents.
Taylor was a very bright light in his family's eyes and hearts. He leaves behind his parents, Jason and Nancy (Kline) Richards and his sister, Emma Richards, all residing in Sadieville, KY. Taylor is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Roger (Judy) Richards and Peggy (Kent) Timbrook and his maternal grandfather, Norbert "Charlie" Kline. Taylor was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Rosalie Kline. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and an overwhelming amount of special friends.
Taylor graduated from Bremen High School. He continued his education at Purdue-Ft. Wayne where he continued to reside. 4-H was a very large part of his childhood as he was a 10-year member and a member of the FFA. Taylor earned many notable awards throughout his young life including the Mental Attitude Award, Presidential Club Award, and a multitude of achievements throughout his 4-H career.
Taylor's love for his friends was unmatched. He cared very deeply for his buddies and spent as much time as he could with them. Overwhelming was the effect he had on all of those around him. The stories and memories are abundant in regards to Taylor and his laugh, love, kindness, and thankfulness. As a young man, he will leave a lasting impression on the world; not only for his qualities that those around him loved so much, but also for his generosity. Taylor had chosen to become an organ donor so that others can live on. His family so desperate hopes, that through their sadness, that his life and love will live on in that donation and selflessness.
One of Taylor's most treasured qualities was his laugh and desire to have fun. He always brought extensive joy and laughter to his family and friends. He had the ability to befriend anyone he came in contact with and never knew a stranger. It was always amazing to his family how he would meet people and make connections due to this quality. Taylor had a tremendous joy and love for all things sports related. He was very driven in knowing and learning all he could about players and statistics over a variety of sports. His family will deeply miss the texts on the family text thread about sports, trades, wins and losses, and anything he thought noteworthy in sports. One of his favorite things to do when he was younger was going to Grandma Rose's to watch the Chicago Cubs or Notre Dame Football.
The family would like to extend their deepest and most heartfelt appreciation to the loving and caring doctors, nurses, and staff that took the utmost care of Taylor. They will forever be in the hearts of his family.
A celebration of Taylor's life will be held from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Four Winds Field in the 1st Source Bank Performance Center, 501 W. South Street, South Bend, IN. A prayer and words of comfort will begin the celebration and will be held at 12:00 p.m. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.
