Thomas "Tom" J Crum, 84, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. Born on April 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Eben Jefferson and Katherine Allen Crum.
He graduated from St. Paul's School in Timonium, Maryland and Gettysburg College. His early career was in retail with W.T. Grants, Western Auto, and Goodyear before retiring with Bechtel Corporation.
Tom married his late wife Thressa "Teri" Emily Tice Crum on March 18, 1961 in Hellam, PA. There were soon relocated to Altoona, PA where their son, Mike was born. The two then began work journeys moving them to 10 different town in 10 years. In 1963, while in Reading, PA their second son, Mark, was born. They settled in Bloomsburg, PA where their children grew up. In 1993, Tom retired and he and his beloved Teri relocated to Salisbury, MD to be closer to their sons and grandchildren.
Tom loved his family. He especially enjoyed supporting his sons attending their after-school events, sports activities, and especially active with The Boy Scouts of America. This extended to his grandchildren where he loved attending their athletic activities, especially baseball, where he was affectionately known as "The Burger Man" at Fruitland Little League.
Tom and Teri would retire and move to Ft. Meyers, FL to be nearer to Tom's parents. After 14 years in FL, they would return to Salisbury in October 2020 to again be back with their family. When not with their family, Tom and Teri loved to travel visiting places like England, Ireland, California, Hawaii, and cruising to places such as the Panama Canal, Alaska, and several Caribbean islands.
Thomas is survived by his two sons, Michael Crum and his wife Laura and their children, Thomas Crum and his wife Jess, Tyler Crum and his wife Katherine and their daughter Charlie; and Jeff Crum and his wife, Danielle; Mark Crum and his wife Deb and their children, Matt Crum and Danny Crum; and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his loving parents and his wife, Thressa "Teri" Emily Crum who passed away in November 2020.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 255 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
