Thomas Fudge, Jr. Obituary

Thomas J. Fudge, Jr, husband, brother, teacher and friend of many passed away suddenly at his home in Perkasie, Pennsylvania on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Tom was 73 years of age. Tom died peacefully in his sleep after a day of doing what he loved most, playing golf with his friends.

Born Thursday, October 29, 1951 in Brooklyn New York he was the son of the late Thomas J. Fudge Sr and Matilda E. (Valentine) Fudge.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 41 years, Dolores A. (Bubrowski) Fudge; brother, Timothy E. Fudge and his wife Dian; brotherly cousin Kevin Brovetto of Boise, Idaho; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Schlauch and her husband Charlie, Genevieve Bubrowski, Deborah Gates and her husband Joe; brothers-in-law, Robert, Michael, Ronald and Anthony Bubrowski. Many great nieces and nephews also survive Tom.

A 1969 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Tom matriculated to Bloomsburg University earning his teaching certification in Elementary Education. Tom retired from New Hope Solebury School District after 36 years as a respected and acclaimed elementary school teacher. His far-reaching effect is witnessed by any student having been educated by Tom. Tom coached every intramural sport and high school basketball at New Hope/Solebury Elementary and High School. Tom also coached at St Jerome’s during his years in Tamaqua.

Catholic by faith, Tom was an accomplished golfer, an encyclopedic card player, a talented pool player, a great fisherman and most importantly a friend to all he met. An avid Notre Dame football fan and New York Yankee fan, Tom supported the Knicks, Rangers, Mets and Giants, all that is New York. Tom's amazing knowledge of sports was clearly evident in his spellbinding conversations.

Tom looked forward to family camping trips, weeks long excursions to Northern Quebec, leisurely days spent fishing and golfing with his many, many friends and family. Tom's amazing personality cultivated many lifelong friendships which he cherished. They included his high school friends from Tamaqua, Sigma Pi Fraternity brothers at BSU, Teachers in New Hope School district and "friends of Golf" (as he referred to them) at every public and private golf course in eastern Pa. Tom will be greatly missed by many. I think he is best described as a “Philanthropist of Friends”.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation services, Inc. of 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 668-2550

A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held on Tuesday June 24, 2025, at 11 o'clock A.M. from the funeral home. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
