Thomas Simms Obituary

Born in Darby, he was the son of Thomas H. Simms, Sr. and the late Judith A. (Rogers) Simms. Tom was a graduate of Devon Prep, class of 1979, and studied at Ursinus College and West Chester University. He learned his trade, in electronics, in the service of his country.
Tom, was a US Navy veteran, served as a volunteer fire fighter and chief engineer in Folsom. He enjoyed his work and career, flying RC aircraft and playing and working with computers and all things mechanical. Tom cherished spending time with his family and friends who will miss him dearly. He loved spending time with his dogs and sharing time with Joan and their RV, enjoying the outdoors.
Surviving along with his wife is his daughter Kelsey Dever wife of Gilbert; grandchildren Lillian and Rhoslyn Dever; brothers David R. Simms husband of Molly of York and Robert O. Simms husband of Nary of North Coventry; sister BethAnn M. Simms wife of Keith DeCandido of New York City; three nephews; and one niece.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday June 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 223 Beech St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Pottstown. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:30-10:45 AM at the church gathering center.

I served with Tom on the USS John King in the mid-80´s. We´ve stayed in loose contact via Facebook for the past several years. He was a good man. My deepest sympathy goes out to Joan and all of Tom´s family. Fair winds and following seas, Shipmate! Until we meet again.

I worked with Tom at AT&T in King of Prussia. We would talk every day and check in with each other. We didn´t live far from each other and had a lot in common. I learned so much from Tom, not from a business aspect, but how to treat people with respect and to acknowledge what they Bri g to the world. I am heartbroken that Tom is not in this world. I know how hard he fought to stay with us. He was a warrior and I will miss knowing he´s gone home. Joan please accept my heartfelt condolences. You were the love of his life and he was so lucky to have you. I will miss you buddy! I´m so sad.
