Muncie - Thomas E. Wickliffe, a father, husband, and friend, passed away December 8. He was 83.
Born on February 1, 1940, Tom attended St. Andrews Grade School and graduated in 1958 from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, where he was remembered for his days as a football player and wrestler. At his 65th high school reunion, which he attended in August, friends still recalled many plays from Tom's days on the field. His interest in athletics turned into a lifelong love of sports and fitness.
Tom started out in college at the University of Detroit, transferring later to Ball State University. This brought him to Muncie, which became his home for the rest of his life. Tom graduated from Ball State in 1963 with a business degree.
Following his graduation, Tom started his career in the financial department at Chevrolet - Muncie, where he was instrumental in the transition of the company's payroll to computers. He eventually became the data processing supervisor at the Muncie plant. When the company's data processing services were transferred to Electronic Data Systems upon General Motors' acquisition of that company, Tom remained in his position at the Muncie plant with EDS until his retirement in 1996.
An avid golfer, Tom will be missed by Mike Kelly, Arno Wittig and the many other friends he played with at the Muncie Elks Club golf course. He also loved working in his yard and spending time with his family. The landscaping work he did and the trees he planted in his yard now serve as a lasting remembrance of Tom that his family members continue to enjoy.
Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, SaDonna Rose (maiden name, Alberding), as well as a daughter, Karen Dunn (spouse, Agustin Tiburcio), and three sons, Daniel, Stephen (spouse, Krista), and Ken. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Wickliffe (maiden name, Buraczynski), his father, Earl Wickliffe, and by his Aunt Josephine Buraczynski and Uncle Kenny Buraczynski, both of whom helped Tom's mother raise him.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery of Ft. Wayne.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the mortuary.

Tom and Syd hold a special place in our heart. They accepted our daughter, Candi, as their own when she fell in love with Dan. Even after they parted, Tom let us know they would help Candi in any way. Plus, we share awesome grandkids. He will be missed. Linda & Richard Cox
