Tia Louise Stratton, 66, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at Baptist South in Jacksonville, Florida. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Tia was a proud graduate of Fletcher High School, Class of 1977.
Tia's life was marked by selflessness and a deep commitment to both her family and her community. After high school, she met and married her beloved husband, William. Together, they served as dedicated volunteer firefighters with the St. Johns County Fire Department for several years. Later, Tia pursued her passion for helping others by earning a nursing degree and working in private nursing for many years. However, her greatest joy came when she chose to be a stay-at-home mom, dedicating herself to raising her children with love, care, and wisdom.
In her earlier years, Tia had a deep passion for horses and enjoyed riding and participating in horse shows. She also spent countless hours making jewelry with her best friend, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity. Tia's love for nature extended to her beloved pets-squirrels, dogs, and other animals she cared for. She cherished moments spent around campfires with family and friends, creating memories that will last forever.
Tia is survived by her husband, William Stratton; her children, Anthony Stratton and Love Levine; brother, Tony Florio (Candy); grandchildren, Chase Stratton and Lizzy and Christian Deyo; great grandson, Matthew Deyo and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonia "Niki" Stratton; parents, Anthony and Joann Florio; paternal grandparents, Anthony and Iola Florio and maternal grandparents, George and Gertrude White.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 7 at the family Cemetery, Stratton Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 6 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. The family is requesting financial assistance with the funeral in lieu of flowers. Please contact St. Johns Family Funeral Home if you would like to make a donation (904)824-1625.
