Timothy Kline Obituary Timothy Kline, 25, of Amsterdam passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 10, 2024.
He was born in Amsterdam on February 9,1999 a son of Dave and Barb Swiderski Kline.
Tim was a lifetime area resident. Although his life was short, he left a profound impression on the community and all who knew him. Tim was active in both Cub Scout Pack 101 and Boy Scout Troop 48 where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project he refurbished the bleachers at Saint Marys Institute. He attended Amsterdam High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, soccer team, and indoor and outdoor track teams. His Babci and Dziadziu were his biggest fans when he was playing soccer. They always attended his home games so they could cheer him on. Tim shared his love of soccer with Dziadziu and they often enjoyed watching World Cup Soccer and other matches together.
He graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors Distinction in 2017. Tim graduated from SUNY Polytechnic Institute with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was most recently employed at Global Foundries as a process engineer. Tim was a gentle soul who was happiest spending time outdoors. He especially loved spending time at the family camp on Sacandaga Lake and in Lake Pleasant where he often delighted in listening to his paternal grandfather recount his exploits hunting and fishing. In the summer he played countless rounds of golf on the Lake Pleasant Golf course. He was proud of his hole in one on the 14th hole on 8/27/2023. When he wasnt golfing, he was probably fishing or out on the lake. He made regular trips to the Salmon River in Pulaski NY to fish for steelhead and salmon. In the fall he enjoyed deer hunting with his father. He loved family traditions and was honored when he was allowed to use his great grandfathers 30/30 and a few years later he asked to use his grandfathers.308. Tim worked hard and spent a lot of time pursuing deer and broke the "no deer" jinx that his grandfather said this rifle allegedly had when Tim harvested his first deer.
Tim was a man of few words, and this quiet outward persona often camouflaged his sharp wit. While enjoying time with friends around a campfire he often quietly listened to the conversation and waited for the right moment quote lines from his favorite TV show Seinfeld or Lonesome Dove to the conversation. Tim was an avid sports fan. He loved the NY Yankees, Buffalo Bills and the Arsenal soccer team. This past summer he fulfilled a lifetime dream to visit Alaska with his family. He delighted in seeing moose, grizzly bears, caribou, and dahl sheep on our trip. He got to partake in two of his passions on the trip. He got to fish in Talkeetna (where he caught an artic char, rainbow trout and a king salmon) and played tundra golf near Denali National Park. We were blessed with 2 days of crystal-clear skies that allowed us to marvel in the grandeur of Mount Denali and the surrounding mountains. In Ketchikan he loved sharing an Alaskan duck fart shot with the owner of the Asylum Bar as they talked about Buffalo Bills football! Before we left, he graciously gifted Tim and his brother Alex bar shirts. As we made our return home Tim was already planning what he wanted to see on his next trip to the great state of Alaska.
He is survived by his loving parents Dave and Barb Kline of Amsterdam. His dear brother Alex Kline. His maternal grandparents, Edward and Krystyna Swiderski. His aunts and uncles, Douglass Kline of Irving, TX, Irene Swiderski (Brian Delisa) and Michael and Sophie Bubniak along with his familys dog, Mellie. Many cousins also survive. He was pre-deceased by his paternal grandfather, Theodore D. Kline and paternal grandmother, Laurie Calahan Kline.
